Bagley Street Bridge update July 16
ALPENA, Mich. — On today’s bridge update Alpena Road Commission Managing Director Ryan Brege provided a fun fact and an onlooker reflects on his days walking across the old bridge.
Brege said contractors completed abutment A and piers one, two and three. Contractors also demolished abutment B which included chipping concrete down to the existing piles.
Brege said once abutment B is done, the community should expect many changes.
He also shared a fun fact about the bridges original name.
One onlooker reminisced on his days of walking the previous bridge and said he figures by the time Thanksgiving Day comes, we will all be thankful for the new bridge.
