Another Freeze Warning; Warmer beginning Wednesday

Low temperatures will drop to about 30 degrees overnight. That has the National Weather Service issuing another round of Freeze Warnings, which will go into effect at midnight and last until 8 a.m. Precautions to protect vegetation sensitive to freezing temperatures should be taken.

A few scattered showers developed over Northeast Michigan which have drifted toward the southeast. The cloud deck will partially clear overnight into Tuesday. A high pressure system north of the Minnesota-Canada border will move closer to our area. That will bring increasing amounts of sunshine for Wednesday.

Tuesday will still feel chilly with highs in the lower 50s and stiff winds out of the north-northwest. Those winds will relax and become more variable Wednesday and Thursday. Getting rid of a persistent north-northwest wind means temperatures will finally get warmer. Afternoon highs will get up 60 degrees Wednesday, then lower 60s beginning Thursday.

Tuesday: Mix of sun and clouds, cool and breezy. Early-morning lows will drop to about 32 degrees. Afternoon highs will reach about 51 degrees, although that’s more than 10 degrees below normal! Evening temperatures will be mainly in the 40s.

Wednesday: Sunny with a warmer afternoon. Still chilly early, starting with predawn temperatures near 32 degrees. Temperatures will rise to the lower 50s during the late-morning. Afternoon highs will get up to about 60 degrees. Evening temperatures will be mainly in the 50s, then cooling to the upper 40s late.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, warmth remains. Early-morning temperatures will begin close to 36 degrees. Temperatures will rise to the middle 50s during the late-morning. Afternoon highs will be near 63 degrees. Evening temperatures will be largely in the 50s, then heading to the upper 40s late.
