Another bright day Thursday, warmer temperatures stick around

High temperatures today got up to 65 degrees in Alpena. It’s the first time in 10 days that temperatures rose above 60 degrees. Readings in the 60s were common across the Midwest. Afternoon highs in the 60s will continue over the next few days.

A frost advisory will go into effect at Midnight and last until 8 a.m. Thursday for most of Northeast Michigan. Predawn low temperatures will likely be slightly above freezing, but there will still be the potential for some light frost to form. In Osocda and Ogemaw counties, temperatures could end up a little colder overnight, so there’s a Freeze Warning in that area from midnight to 8 a.m.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Predawn low temperatures will cool to around 36 degrees. Late-morning temperatures will rise to the middle 50s. Afternoon highs will reach close to 65 degrees. Evening temperatures will be generally in the 50s.

Friday: Partly cloudy with a small chance of spotty showers in the afternoon. Early-morning temperatures will head down to about 38 degrees. Temperatures will rise to the upper 50s during the late-morning. Afternoon highs will get up to around 66 degrees. Evening temperatures will head to the 50s.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. Even our early-morning temperatures will become a little warmer, lows will be near 41 degrees. Afternoon highs will be close to 66 degrees. Evening temperatures will cool from the lower 60s to the 50s.
