Alpena Hockey Captain Anden Marceau Suspended Two Games

ALPENA, MI- In Saturday’s 5-4 overtime loss to Bay Reps, Alpena was missing their leader.

Senior captain Anden Marceau was suspended two games following his ejection Friday night against Traverse City West.  The ejection was the result of an altercation that took place during the game. Game officials ejected Marceau.

Head Coach Ben Henry spoke with WBKB about the suspension, “There was an altercation, Anden went in to defend his teammate.  We believe that he never threw a punch during the incident.”

Henry has already appealed the suspension. ” It was almost like they just had to eject someone, and they chose Anden. As luck would have it they chose our best player.”

Marceau tallied four goals and three assists through the first four games of the season. Which included a hat trick in the opener against Hancock.

Marceau  will have to sit out the December 9 contest against Detroit Country Day if the suspension is not overturned.
