Alpena Hockey Falls in Overtime

ALPENA, MI- The Alpena hockey team was riding high coming into Saturday’s contest against TC Bay. Winners of their first four games, the Wildcats looked like they were in position to win a 5th.

Jaden Marchlewski scored with under five minutes to go to give the Wildcats a 4-3 lead. Bay had the answer however as Grant Lucas scored his second goal of the night to tie the game and force overtime.

Ryan Lannen would win it for Bay less than two minutes into overtime on a power play goal.

The Wildcats, who played without captain Anden Marceau most certainly did not have their “A” game. They trailed 2-0 before Reid Meinhardt scored three consecutive goals to give the Wildcats a 3-2 lead. Harrison Kaszubowski assisted on all three goals, Brody Thompson assisted on two of three.

The Wildcats fall to 4-1-0, they take on Detroit Country Day on December 9.
