ALDI, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet and Hampton Inn Coming to Alpena Soon

Alpena has some new businesses coming to town.  “We have some ongoing projects that are looking to come to fruition. The first of them is out on the thirty-two corridor, one being ALDI’s. ALDI’s is getting to the point they’ve just announced that they are having a grand opening. I believe it to be June 6th. So, there will be another grocer introduced into our community,” Alpena Township Supervisor, Nathan Skibbe said.

“For those who don’t know, ALDI’s is the sixth biggest grocer in the world. They’re a big company. And the fact that they picked Alpena to put in one of their stores, it is really nice. A lot of organic options, reasonable price points, happy with their coming.” Alpena Economic Development Director Michael Mahler said. “We also have the Hampton Inn and that is scheduled, it looks like it’s a rough completion of late summer early fall,” Skibbe said. Alpena will benefit all year from these establishments, but especially in the tourist season. But wait, that is not all “The potential of Ollie’s coming into our community, that would be a great addition to that 23-south corridor, improve those traffic flows as well and give another boost to existing businesses in that corridor. These three businesses will add to the economic development in Alpena.
