One woman is grieving after her husband’s headstone at the albert township east cemetery was vandalized.

It’s believed someone drove a car into the cemetery and caused damage to eight headstones in total.

Janice Burtch recently laid her husband to rest in the cemetery after he died from COVID in December of last year. When she went to visit his grave, she was appalled at what she saw. “It hit me that the stone had been moved and damaged and the flowers and arrangements and stuff were on the ground,” she said. “I hopped out of the car, it was probably still running, and I ran out to it and I looked at it and I started crying.”

While authorities have not found any suspects, Burtch believes it could have been teenagers. Regardless of who it was, she is determined to find the culprits and bring them to justice. “I will find you,” she said. “I will find you and I will make it my life’s mission and you will be punished.”

As of now, Burtch is considering a reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest or discovery of who vandalized the cemetery.
