ACC Volleyball Falls in Home Opener Against Bay College
ALPENA, MI – The Alpena Community College volleyball team hosted their home opener in front of a fired up crowd against Bay College on Wednesday night. Additionally, the matchup was the Lumberjacks conference opener for the 2023-24 season.
Despite the home team advantage, the Lady Lumberjacks couldn’t pull off the victory. The Norse defeated ACC in three straight sets by scores of 25-19, 25-11 and 25-15. Sophomore middle blocker Morgan Krentz had six kills and five digs. Freshman outside hitter Gracie Hart added five kills while freshman setter Mallory Donakowski tallied eight assists for the Lumberjacks.
On the other end, sophomore libero Tori Jandt was named the MCCAA Northern Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday. Jandt ended with 25 digs and five service aces in the match.
The Lumberjacks next matchup is scheduled for September 19 when they host Montcalm Community College at 6:30 p.m.
