ACC Lumberjacks Host Doubleheader Against Kirtland

ALPENA, MI – After spending over two months playing away games, the ACC men’s and women’s basketball teams returned to their home court to host Kirtland on Wednesday.

The Lady Lumberjacks kicked off the night against the Firebirds. Sophomore forward, Jade Schultz, led with 21 points, while freshman forward, Allie Urlaub, followed with 15 points for ACC. The ladies defense kept the Firebirds at bay all night as they took the 59-48 win over Kirtland.

The men followed as freshman guard, Davarion Mitchell, scored 15 points for the Lumberjacks. Sophomore guard, James Mitchell, earned 13 points for ACC. While the men proved strong on offense, the Firebirds managed to run away with the 83-59 win.

The ACC men and women get a bit of a break before traveling to Grand Rapids to face the Raiders on January 21. The women are set to kick off at 1 p.m., while the men follow at 3 p.m.
