ACC issues Distinguished Graduate Award
ALPENA, Mich. — Today ACC honored Christin Bennett for their Distinguished Graduate Award. The Alpena Community College Foundation created the award in 1998 and almost every year the school recognizes one of their alumni who have gone on to contribute to society personally and professionally.
Director of Alumni Relations Mary Eagan says they have about 80,000 alumni to choose from and shares where she experiences her biggest challenge.
ACC President Dr. Don MacMaster said when it comes to making a choice, they look at individuals who have gone above and beyond and changed lives. He adds that he is very proud of his students and modestly makes mention that the founder of Five Guys Burgers and Fries received the Distinguished Graduate Award years ago.
Bennett currently lives in Grand Rapids but said she visits Alpena frequently because for her this is home.
