Michigan lawmakers subpoena two cities for election information

LANSING, Mich. — Despite Michigan’s electoral college officially casting their votes for Joe Biden, state legislators have issued subpoenas in two Michigan cities asking for all election information.

After a 58-51 House vote on Tuesday, Dec. 15 allotting subpoena powers to the House and Senate’s Oversight Committee, the committee immediately served Detroit and surrounding suburb Livonia requesting for all information and communications relating to the Nov. 3 election.

Election clerks in these cities have until Jan. 12 at 5 p.m. to submit their documents to the chair of the Oversight Committee.
