WinterView embraces the different interpretations of the season

WinterView highlights art pieces and artist's interpretations of the season.

Alpena, Mich — during the winter months, many of the local galleries in northeast Michigan close or slow down in foot traffic, but that’s not the case for one gallery and their unique gallery manager.

Outside, the cold surrounds the streets of Alpena. Inside Art in the Loft, people can find different artist’s interpretations of the winter season in the season long showcase called WinterView. Gallery Manager Ric Jasso will be there to greet you well into the spring and tell you about this unique type of gallery theme.

“Each one of these artists, and we have over 35 artists, will present something that’s totally different from each other, but yet unique, and that’s what we love about WinterView,” said Jasso.

The former Milwaukee Police Officer has roamed the gallery for the past 7 years in different roles, looking at the variety of creations that bring the gallery to life. With WinterView, it’s up to the artists and the patrons to engage in their senses.

“It’s your perspective of what winter should be,” said Jasso. “Some love snow, some don’t like snow… some appreciate the cold, some don’t, but it’s how your perspective of life and what winter is.”

Art in the Loft also offers a number of different classes geared around art and cuisine. Find out more information by visiting the website artintheloft.org.
