Wanted fugitive from Lincoln captured
IOSCO COUNTY, Mich. — The wanted fugitive, James Dominic Gross, 22, from the Lincoln, Michigan area has been captured thanks to a tip received from a resident. The resident saw the story in the news and called Northeastern Michigan Crime Stoppers.
Based on the tip received, Oscoda Township Police Department located and arrested Gross who was hiding at a residence in Oscoda.
In February 2021, Gross pled guilty to Criminal Sexual Conduct (CSC) Third Degree, (forcible penetration with a minor child victim). In early March 2021, during a teleconference sentencing hearing, Gross was sentenced to prison for 66 months for the CSC charge. The court ordered Gross to turn himself in by the end of the day. Gross failed to turn himself in and continued to evade arrest. In addition, Gross was also wanted on new felony charges, including a Breaking and Entering in the Lincoln area.
