Two-year-old girl missing in Oscoda County has been found

OSCODA COUNTY, Mich. — The missing two–year–old girl in Oscoda County is back in the arms of her loved ones. Here’s the latest on her recovery and where she was found.

“After over 24 hours of searching, Gabriella has been found alive and well,” said Lieutenant Travis House. He told reporters standing outside the search zone police blocked off.

A resident knew of Gabriella Vitale’s disappearance and found the two–year–old at her door, right outside of where rescue teams had already searched. “Our hearts had been with Gabriella this whole time,” House said.

The family lost track of Vitale on Monday around 8 in the morning when they were packing up from a week–long camping trip in Comins Township.

“She was unfortunately missing her bottoms and her shoes,” House said, “but seems relatively un-phased for a girl who’s been in the woods overnight”

House said the little girl reunited with her mother and will be just fine. An ambulance arrived to take Vitale to the hospital, but we’re told she’s healthy.
