Switzer becomes second vet hospital in NE Michigan
“It was a huge surprise!”
That’s was the reaction of Dr. Ryan Knight when he found out his practice became the second vet hospital in Northeast Michigan.
The recognition came when the American Animal Hospital Association (AHAA) accredited Dr. Knight’s Switzer Veterinary Clinic as one of only 12% of accredited veterinary hospitals in the country.
He said it took his team two years to prepare for this designation.
The clinic had to pass 900 different standards of care based on AHAA rules and regulations.
Veterinary technician Jessica Knowles said accreditation gives Switzer the opportunity to provide better medicine for the animals. She also said achieving accreditation boosted morale.
“My pets are my children, and that’s how so many people nowadays treat their animals,” Knowles said. “IÂ want that best care. I want somebody that loves my pet, my family member as much as I do.”
