Pets of the Week: Junior and Dudley

For the first time in “Pets of the Week” history, we take you to the Alpena County Fairgrounds, home to the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Shelter, to meet two adoptable dogs: Junior and Dudley. These playful pups are each looking for a family to call their own and are excited for futures full of love, adventures, and a home.

Our first pet featured is a nine month old collie mix named Junior. Junior is the ultimate family dog that loves to play, snuggle, and looks very handsome in a sweater. He was a bit shy when he originally came to the shelter, but has since blossomed into the bouncy dog he is today. Junior is quite the socialite, and would have a fantastic time at a home with a canine sibling to play with, and a yard to run around. Junior is working hard on his puppy training and needs to be in a home that is willing to commit to continue his obedience, socialization, and potty training.

Our other featured dog today is Dudley. Dudley is a fellow nine month old pup, but is a bit larger than Junior and is a boxer/lab/hound mix. He loves to zoom around, work on his training, and especially play with toys. This good boy is the dream adventure buddy, he doesn’t care if you’re hiking, running, or skipping—he just wants to be included on the adventure! With this, Dudley would be the perfect addition to an active family with a fenced in yard and would be fine with or without other dogs in the household. While he does love to play, he loves to snuggle just as much and can’t wait to cuddle up on the couch with his future family.

Both dogs are available for adoption at the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Shelter and are fully vaccinated and neutered. These two are full of love and can’t wait to meet their future families! If you are interested in meeting either Junior or Dudley, donating, or volunteering at the shelter, be sure to give them a call at 989–884–2248.
