Pelosi expected to deliver Articles of Impeachment
WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is expected to walk the Articles of Impeachment over to the Senate on Monday.
Currently, the Senate is working to confirm Biden’s Cabinet appointments, however the impeachment trial will take place in about two weeks.
The Articles of Impeachment accuse former President Donald Trump of inciting the insurrection at the U.S Capitol on Jan. 6.
Senate pro-tempore Patrick Leahy (D, VT) will preside over the impeachment trials rather than Chief Justice John Roberts from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court only presides over the trials of sitting Presidents.
