Partridge Point residents speak out about problems at area park

ALPENA, Mich. – Some residents living near one Alpena park are concerned about their quality of life.

Homeowners who live off Partridge Point Road expressed their concerns about problems at Partridge Point Park during public comments to township trustees at Tuesday’s meeting.

Residents there said, loud music, speeding and litter at the park is hurting their community.

“Two days ago I found 9 needles on my walk, 9,” said partridge point resident Al Wirgau.

“The DNR isn’t returning phone calls to us, so here we are coming to you folks hoping that you can do something about it, said partridge point resident Russ Rich.

Residents from the area submitted a letter along with 22 signatures asking the township to hold the parks owner, south bay association responsible.

South bay worked with the state to open the park a couple years ago.
