Alpena MI – Today just like yesterday a record high temperature has fallen; our high reached 86 degrees today breaking the old record of 84 degrees back in 2005. We should have one more day of summerlike temperatures before we see a major cooldown in the area due to a cold front. For tonight we will be mostly clear early then clouds will increase toward morning as the cold front approaches the area with lows in the lower 60s. Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy becoming windy continued warm with highs approaching record breaking territory with highs in the middle 80s. As we go through the next 3 days our rain chances will increase in the area; back in September we lack rain in the area, it was the 4th driest September on record with only 0.82 inches for the entire month. Our temperatures will struggle to make it to 50 this weekend, the last time that our high temperatures did not make it to 50 degrees was May 17th.
