NOAA honors local resident
ALPENA, Mich. — Each year NOAA recognizes a local resident for the Betty Krueger volunteer of the year. It is no surprise that Aldean J. Moe, who everyone knows as Al, was recognized as this year’s honoree. His willingness to get the job done no matter the scale of the task did not go unnoticed. Moe’s been a volunteer for approximately 15 years and shared one of his fondest volunteer memories.
Sanctuary Liason Katie Wolf spoke about why Moe is a perfect fit for their organization.
Even though Moe is this year’s honoree, he still acknowledged those before him.
He said under normal circumstances the sanctuary would have a celebration in Washington D.C. Although he is content with his recognition, he added they may do something this summer on board the Lady Michigan.
