Ninth annual clean-up day

ALPENA, Mich. –Non-Profit Organization South Bay in collaboration with MDOT are asking for the community’s help for the ninth annual clean–up day.  This once–a–year event brings the community together to clean US–23.

South Bay President Larry Clark said improving economic conditions is their goal.  He added why it is important for the community to help keep this area clean.

In order to save time on clean-up day, employees on 23 South are asked to sweep dirt and gravel off the driveway approaches in front of your business and possibly on one or two of the adjoining properties.

Volunteers will meet at the old Kmart building on June 15, at 9 a.m. until it is all spiffed up.  The rain date is June 16.  MDOT will supply safety vests and South Bay should have enough shovels.

For more information, you may email Larry Clark at larry_clark@outlook.com.  Volunteers just need to show up.
