New Water Assistance Program to aide Michiganders
ALPENA, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has a new program for people who do not have access to water in their homes. The Water Repair Assistance Program is for low–income Michiganders unable to access water for washing, disinfecting surfaces, and more.
The program will give access to one functioning toilet, shower, kitchen faucet, and laundry tub. Hot and cold water will also be provided.
According to Spokesperson, Lewis Roubal, by providing eligible households access to water, benefits of this program will exist long after COVID–19 .
Funding is available until December 30.
