New American flags set to fly high in Alpena

A year ago The Heroes Avenue Of Flags began at little Flanders field and Washington Park. The first phase of the project was strictly for the heroes in Flanders field. The second part to this project will be called Alpena’s Flags of Honor, the flags will be located along the bi-path in the area of Duck Park, passing in front of the covered bridge, and ending at Long Rapids Road. The Kiwanis Club decided this new tunnel of flags would be available for anyone to sponsor.

To sponsor a flag is $50  annually, and the flags will get put up 5 times a year. The Kiwanis club website has forms available for sponsors to fill out as well. As a reminder the Heroes Avenue Of Flags will stay at Washington Park, while the new Flags Of Honor will fly over Duck Park
