MSP Educates Drivers On Distracted Driving
With April being Distracted Driving Awareness month, the Michigan State Police is educating motorists about the dangers of distracted driving.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2015 alone, 3,477 people were killed and 391,000 were injured in crashes involving distracted driving.
Using your cell phone, eating or drinking, talking to passengers and even using GPS counts as distracted driving.
Community service trooper Ashley Simpson says paying attention to the road and your surroundings while driving can make the difference in preventing a crash and arriving home safely.
