Michigan State Police warn of impersonator

DETROIT, Mich. –

Michigan State Police are warning drivers on state roads to be on high alert of a male impersonating an Michigan State Police Trooper.

According to authorities, MSP received reports of a possible police impersonator pulling people over Saturday in Detroit.

Witnesses described the person as a white male wearing a black uniform and driving a black dodge Charger with red and blue lights.

Police said this man identified himself as a Michigan State Police Trooper, but MSP does not use unmarked cars to conduct traffic stops.

If you are ever pulled over by an unmarked vehicle and don’t feel safe local authorities suggest you pull over to a safe public space and call 911.
