HUNT arrests East Tawas man for sex crimes
ALPENA, Mich. — A 32–year–old East Tawas man wanted for child sex crimes has finally been arrested.
He evaded police for the past month using a kayak and camping tent. His arrest happened yesterday afternoon in a desolate part of Alpena County.
Detective Lt. Stuart Sharp said the man kayaked along the shore of Lake Huron. The man was located by The Huron Undercover Narcotics Team using maps and advanced surveillance techniques.
Sharp said the man faces 21 separate counts and a single warrant for criminal sexual conduct. He will be transported back down to Iosco County where he probably faces life in prison.
