Alpena — The Northeastern Michigan Association of Horse Clubs will host a point approved open speed show on Wednesday September 19th.
The show will kick off at 6:00 p.m. at the Alpena County Fairgrounds. Catch riders and their horses participate in pole bending, speed and action, keyhole, cloverleaf, and dash race. Riders put a lot of time and practice into their animal to have them ready for competition.
“They have to learn when they go these horse shows how to take care of the animal, how to feed the animal, how to saddle the animal and it’s generation after generation,” said Jackie Konecke. “They’re out there at those horse shows practicing and they might doing barrels, they might be doing showmanship, but these little kids or adults have spent with their animal.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information and to register, visit https://nemahc.weebly.com/
