Grand Lake Sportsmen’s Club Adds Extra Spice To Posen This Weekend With Their Annual Chili Cook-off

Tomorrow, March 9th, The Grand Lakes Sportsmen’s is having their annual chili cook0off fundraiser at 12:30pm in Posen at the Bolton Ridge Bar and Grill.

“Every year we do a chili cook off to raise funds for the club, the Grand Lake Sportsmen’s club so that we can do some of the projects that we do around Grand Lake. We have two free fishing derbies that we do on the lake trying to promote getting young kids out on the lake” said Jeff Duly, President of the Grand Lake Sportsmen’s club.

The Grand Lake Sportsmen’s club has two free fishing derby opportunities, the first one during the winter months and an additional one in July.

“You bring a crockpot full of your most delicious chili and anyone who attends pays $10 and they get entered into a raffle for some prizes” said Duly.

There is a $5 entry fee to enter a chili into the competition and the $10 fee allows you to taste all the chili’s and vote for your favorite ones.

“Presque Isle is a very small community so it’s not all about just like fishing. We’ll do a corn hole tournament or we’ve helped carve a bunch of pumpkins for a local fall pumpkin walk, just things to make sure there’s fun things to do in such a small community here” said Duly.
