Governor Whitmer requests Enbridge to immediately shut down dual pipeline
ALPENA, Mich –A second letter was sent from Governor Whitmer to CEO of Enbridge, Al Monaco, requesting they immediately shut down the dual pipeline running through the Straits of Mackinac.
Whitmer said at this moment Enbridge is pumping crude through the Great Lakes on state-owned bottomlands.
At this time no explanation from Enridge has been provided for the cause of damage or assurance on mitigating future harm.
Governor Whitmer has asked Enbridge to provide a full report as to the cause of this damage and what measures they plan to put in place to prevent this from happening again.
