First responders quickly knock down morning house fire in Alpena

ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena Fire Department quickly contained a house fire early Monday morning.  First responders arrived at the home in the 400 block of Saginaw Street.  They found smoke coming from the second floor. No one was found in the residence.  The fire was contained to one room and extinguished quickly.  Alpena County Victim Advocates were also called to the scene to help distraught family members.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
