Driver sped down the street and crashed into a tree

ALPENA, Mich. – Police say a 25–year–old driver from Rogers City had been speeding down the street, missed a turn, and got hurt in a car crash.

The Alpena Police Department and other agencies were called to the corner of 11th Avenue and Elizabeth Street on Sunday.

Paramedics took the driver to MidMichigan Health and later transferred the 25-year-old to another hospital. No one else was involved in the crash.

Witnesses say they saw the young driver flying down 11th avenue until the car struck a tree and nearby rail.
