DNR offers coyote tips
NORTHEAST MICHIGAN– The Michigan Department of Natural Resources advises Michiganders be careful of coyotes.
The DNR says we’re coming up on the end of mating season, which means coyote encounters might be more frequent.
To prevent coyotes from getting too close for comfort, the DNR says you should remove potential food sources in your yard, such as bird feeders and trash cans.
They also advise you never let your pet outdoors unsupervised if coyotes are in the area.
If a coyote becomes a nuisance, spook them by making loud noises.
