Council members approve wage increase
ALPENA, Mich— Following the August primary, Rogers City council members approved a wage increase for election workers. The one time increase will go into effect on November 3, the day of the general election.
Workers in charge of counting ballots will receive a 50 cent per hour raise. Workers who will be in contact with the public will receive a $1.00 per hour increase.
Rogers City Mayor Scott Mclennan said, “The council approved the increase for those working the election during the pandemic.”
