Colburn Outfitters celebrates opening in Downtown Alpena

ALPENA, Mich. – The Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed another business downtown Friday.

Although the doors at Colburn Outfitters have been open for a short period, the chamber officially cut the ribbon welcoming the downtown clothing store.

The chamber says they are happy to see downtown Alpena thriving.

Downtown has become so vibrant,” said Vice President of Alpena Chamber Ambassadors Pam Kirchhoff. “There are so many new stores and so many opportunities. It’s fun to see all the people that are out and about downtown, shopping and just hanging out. It is really a great place to be.”

Kirchhoff said the closure of the Alpena Mall has resulted in close to 10 businesses moving and opening downtown.

She said there are more business openings planned before the end of summer.
