Shooters gathered at the Sportsmen’s Club in Alpena Saturday morning to participate in Clays for a Cause, a fundraiser event for the MyMichigan Medical Cancer Center.
12 teams of up to four shooters made their way around the Sportsmen’s Club to shoot targets at 12 stations.
Each team member had four opportunities to hit the clay target. Registration began at 8am, and shotgun start was at 9am.
Several organizations around northeast Michigan sponsored the event, including Wolverine State Credit Union, Alpena Power Company, Meridian Industrial and Welding Services, Huron Dist. Inc., and Citizens National Bank.
The winning team was Industrial Maintenance Contracting, featuring Catie Kaiser, Travis Kaiser, Ger LaLonde, and Clint Cook. Out of 200 targets, the winning team broke 180.
The fundraiser collected over $5,000.
