City to pick up lawn material this week

ALPENA, Mich. — For those giving their lawns a spring cleaning, the City of Alpena’s here to help.

Residents can leave their bagged brush and lawn material at the curb for pick–up this week. The city will take the bags in different regions each day, starting Monday with the area east of Ripley and south of Washington.

As with most lawn material pickups, the city asks that you have materials on the curb no earlier than two days ahead – and no later than 6 AM the morning of the pickup.

Here is the full schedule.

• Monday, May 3
  The area east of Ripley Boulevard and south of Washington Avenue.
• Tuesday, May 4
  The area north of the river and east of Chisholm Street, from Fourteenth Avenue to the City limits.
• Wednesday, May 5
  The area west of Ripley Boulevard and south of Washington Avenue.
• Thursday, May 6
  The area north of Washington Avenue and west of US-23/Chisholm Street, to the City limits.
