City supports parade’s return
ALPENA, Mich. — Hundreds of people came out for the Fourth of July parade.
People started staking out a spot along Chisolm street hours before the parade officially kicked off Sunday.
Many neighbors like Renae Kamyszek and her family opted for a shaded area in front of the Alpena county courthouse.
“Yep we found the shade and we got to get the kids out; we’ve been doing it since I was a kid. Family hasn’t been around for a year and everyone’s ready to get outside and see each other.”
And like the Kamyszeks – hundreds more Alpena residents were excited to enjoy the parade like they had in years past.
Floats reflected the parade theme – all things Fourth of July.
Winners of the parade in the non–commercial division were the Alpena County Fair and United Conservative Voice.
In the commercial division – the winners were Dinosaur Gardens and Alpena Veterinary Clinic
