Brighter and milder this weekend

Cloudy skies continue across Northeast Michigan along with cold temperatures behind a cold front that past through our area yesterday. High temperatures today only reached the mid-20s, but temperatures will rebound over the weekend.

Also, after yesterday’s cold front passed through Northern Michigan, lake effect snow has developed off of Lake Michigan. While the most significant accumulations have been closer to and west of I-75, a few flurries have entered Northeast Michigan from time to time. Skies will become much quieter, as skies gradually clear from west to east tonight-early tomorrow.

Overnight lows will drop to around 15 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. The cloud cover will partially clear tomorrow, and high temperatures are expected to reach 31 degrees.

For Saturday, highs will reach the lower 30s, several degrees warmer than what we have seen throughout Friday, under a mix of sun and clouds. Sunday will be even brighter and slightly warmer with highs in the mid-30s and mostly sunny skies. A mix of sun and clouds is expected on Monday with highs around the lower/middle 30s. Dry weather will continue on Tuesday and likely Wednesday as well.
