Bright and warm Tuesday; A few showers Wednesday

High temperatures today reached the middle 50s underneath mainly cloudy skies and a breeze out of the northwest about 15 mph. The clouds are beginning to clear this evening which will set up our area for some bright skies tomorrow.

As cloud cover continues and clear and winds speeds ease, frost is possible overnight especially away from the shoreline where temperatures will be slightly cooler. A Frost Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for most of Northern Michigan (excluding Iosco and Arenac countines) for 1 a.m.-9 a.m. Tuesday.

Skies will become clear tonight and winds will ease to around 5 mph. Low temperatures will range from 34 degrees in Mio to the upper 30s for most spots at the shoreline.

Dry weather will continue in our area with plenty of sunshine tomorrow morning and afternoon, then cloud cover will increase tomorrow evening. A storm system currently producing an outbreak of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in Oklahoma and northern Texas will travel northward. No severe weather at all is forecast for our state, but we will likely get a couple rounds of showers on Wednesday.

Temperatures tomorrow afternoon are expected to warm to the middle 60s. Wednesday morning will start with temperatures in the lower 40s, then a few showers are possible with highs in the upper 50s. Thursday is looking dry with warm temperatures, reaching the lower 70s in the afternoon. Some thunderstorms are possible Friday, then highs in the 70s are expected again on Saturday.
