Bright and warm end to the week

A few spotty downpours and thunderstorms have developed south of Alpena this afternoon, as a cold front is moving through Northeast Michigan. Dry weather will follow, lasting through the weekend.

Most areas reached high temperatures in the lower and middle 80s earlier today, except at the shoreline because of a breeze out of the northeast off of Lake Huron. Similar afternoon temperatures will continue through the weekend, then slightly warmer early in the upcoming week.

For tomorrow, mostly sunny skies will shine all day long. High temperatures will warm up to 82 degrees in Alpena, though temperatures at most shoreline communities will likely warm into the upper 70s.

Afternoon temperatures will climb to the middle 80s over the weekend, peaking in the upper 80s on Tuesday. An anticipated cold front will move through Northern Michigan Wednesday, leading to a sharp drop-off in temperatures around the middle and end of next week.

For tomorrow, expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the lower 80s. More cloud cover will move in briefly on Saturday, then Sunday will feature sunny skies. High temperatures will warm into the mid-80s on Sunday and Monday.
