The Rivers Edge Golf Club played host to the Blue Line Classic which was an event held by the Blue Line Club who also had a silent auction for the Alpena Wildcat Varsity Hockey team.
The event started at 10 a.m. and all the proceeds gained today at the event will go towards the Alpena Wildcats Varity Hockey team for transportation, jersey’s and more. Meghan Winterstein, the Treasurer for the Blue Line Club further explains what the proceeds will go towards. She said, “The Blue Line is a booster club that fully supports transportation, jerseys, lodging, meals, anything that they need. So, 100% of the profit goes to the team, not only this year but for future teams as well.”
The Alpena Wildcats Hockey team are coming off an impressive season and this year is no exception. The excitement continues to rise as this team sees a fresh new wave of incoming freshman to the Varsity Hockey team. Meghan said, “We’ve got, I think, three seniors now but tons of young, great, active, strong upcoming freshman that are going to be joining our team. Everybody on the team as a whole has been doing great, lots of ice time has been had already, good practicing and I think this season will be great.”
