Tomorrow, the Alpena Drug Abuse Resistance Education program will take on the Detroit Lions alumni.
Launched in 1983, D.A.R.E is a comprehensive K–12 education program that teaches kids the dangers of drugs, violence, bullying, issues involving internet safety, and more. The D.A.R.E. All Stars will face alumni from the Detroit Lions football team in a game of basketball.
The event will be held at Thunder Bay Junior High School with tip off starting at 7:30pm. Refreshments will be provided at the game free of charge to kids who attend. Pictures with, and autographs of the Detroit Lions players themselves will be available. Some of the alumni players will include Rob Rubick, Kerry Hyder, Lomas Brown and more.
Tickets are $20 each, or $50 per family. All proceeds will stay local and go into various programs for students.
You can purchase your ticket by calling 800–445–2143, or online at www.alpenadare.publicsafetypsa.com.
