Alpena Soccer Breezes to 9-1 Win Over Boyne City
ALPENA, MI – The Alpena Wildcats boys soccer team hosted Boyne City breezing to a 9-1 victory over the Ramblers on Monday afternoon.
Alpena went into the half leading 3-0. The Ramblers had some momentum going to open the second half. Maddox Rykse found the back of the Wildcats’ net making it a 3-1 game.
Alpena quickly responded and didn’t let up. Gabe Glawe charged past the Ramblers’ defense to tally another goal for Alpena. Glawe finished the game scoring four goals for the Wildcats.
Garrett Hamp added a score midway through the second half. The junior forward also finished with four goals. Kaleb Werth rounded up the Wildcats’ scoring for the day with one goal. Head Coach Gregg Supiran credited the Wildcats’ scorers and organized defense which propelled Alpena to a 9-1 win.
Alpena travels to Traverse City West to play the Titans on September 7 at 6:45 p.m.
