Alpena Public Schools announce board vacancy
ALPENA, Mich. — Alpena Public Schools is seeking applications for the vacated position on the Board of Education effective March 24. An individual will be appointed to fill the position vacated by trustee Stephanie Shafto, through December 31, 2020, and can run for the four-year term position in the November 3, 2020 election.
Interested persons must submit a letter expressing interest in the board position and their qualifications to board president Gordon Snow at the district office (2373 Gordon Road, Alpena) no later than 4 p.m. on April 8.
Following a review of submitted materials, the Board will schedule interviews with selected candidates. The Board may choose not to interview all candidates.
