Alpena Man leads cops on chase through Presque Isle

ALPENA, Mich. — On Friday, Michigan State Police Alpena Post were trying to locate 23-year-old Jacob Kenneth Kuchnicki for outstanding felony warrants.

Kuchnicki was found outside of a residence off of M-32, and fled after an attempted traffic stop. Pursuit began on M-32 when Kuchnicki fled west until turning onto North M-65. He continued on M-65 through Presque Isle until he reached the Posen village limits.

The suspect began driving down several side streets and eventually off the road and onto the North East State snowmobile trails. Pursuit continued onto Grand Lake Highway and Polaski Road when officers used a Precision Immobilization Technique to send the suspect’s vehicle into a ditch.

Kuchnicki was caught on foot shortly after and arrested. He was charged for his outstanding warrants and had a bond set at $100,000 cash surety.

Aside from these charges, Kuchnicki was arraigned for his latest charges; one count Flee and Elude Third Degree, one count Possession Controlled Substance Methamphetamine/Ecstasy, one count Resisting and Obstructing Police, and one count Driving While License Suspended. This bond was set at $150,00 cash surety.

Kuchnicki is expected to appear in court for both incidents on Feb. 17 at 2:45 p.m.
