Alpena Hockey Rolls Through Cadillac 7-1

ALPENA, MI – The Alpena Wildcats hockey team hosted their annual Teddy Bear Toss game on Friday night. The teddy bears came flying early and the scoring came often as Alpena defeated Cadillac by a final score of 7-1.

The Wildcats got rolling early in the first period. Luke Miller started Alpena’s scoring off with an assist by Captain Garrett Hamp. The Vikings retaliated with a goal by Blake Seelye just a few minutes later. Alpena’s momentum didn’t break as Clark Weir responded quickly with another score to regain the lead at 2-1. Hamp closed out the first period with a score to make it 3-1.

In the second period, Bryce Moe capitalized on the powerplay with a goal to give Alpena the 5-1 lead. The Wildcats didn’t stop there. Anthony Thompson tipped a shot by Ethan Walker into the back of the net to go up 6-1. In the final period, Weir tallied up another goal with an assist from Gavin Winterstein.
