Alcona County Library to run Curtis Township Branch

HARRISVILLE, Mich. – Alcona County’s library will now also operate the library in Curtis Township.

The Curtis Township Library recently named Denise Bearre as Acting Director.

Bearre is currently the director over Alcona’s Harrisville branch.

Bearre said the former director Rebecca Kyes retired earlier this year.

Bearre who has over 30 years of experience said her goal is to keep the township library running.

She said lack of funding and other issues put the Curtis Township Library in jeopardy of closing.

Bearre said Curtis Township residents can look forward to new programs including an upcoming summer reading series.
