Air Quality Alert Until Midnight Wednesday

Alpena MI – For tonight we will be seeing widespread haze and areas of smoke, it will be partly cloudy with lows in the 50s. Winds will be out of the northwest at 10-15 mph. Also because of the smoke in the area we will see visibilities reduced to 2-3 miles at times and the air quality ahead in effect until midnight Wednesday. So be aware that anyone with respiratory issues will be affected by the smoke. It would not be be the best day to do a lot outdoors due to the poor air quality. Tomorrow should be a day that it remains dry with highs in the upper 70s, lower 80s inland, but after that rain chances with return for the remainder of the week. That will be good news for the drought situation and the fire danger so any rain is welcomed.
