Aidan Schultz Posts First Shutout in Alpena Win

ALPENA, MI- The Alpena Wildcats gave the standing room only crowd at Northern Lights Arena exactly what they came for as they took down Escanaba in a 5-0 victory.

The Wildcats were led by Senior Goalie Aidan Schultz, who notched his first career shutout in the victory. Schultz turned away all 18 shots he faced. Including a few in the first period that kept the game scoreless for the first 17 minutes.

The trio of Reid Meinhardt, Anden Marceau and Harrison Kaszubowski led the dynamic Alpena offense.  Meinhardt got the scoring started and finished the night with two goals and an assist. Kaszubowski tallied a goal to go along with three assists. Marceau had three assists of his own on the night.

Coach Ben Henry praised the group postgame, ” They move the puck so well, and they are great leaders. Every practice they are first in line for every drill.”

Seniors James Kuhl and Garret Hamp rounded out the scoring for Alpena as they improved to 8-1-1 on the season.
