Elderly woman rams into building

ALPENA, Mich.— Michigan State Police and local paramedics responded to a call Thursday afternoon of an elderly woman who accidently hit the gas instead of the break.

Troopers say, the driver of a small SUV was in the process of parking her vehicle at Gordon Food Service when she stepped on the accelerator. This sent the vehicle into the side of the building causing the airbags deploy.

The driver sustained a leg injury and her passenger complained of chest pain. Both women were transported to MidMichigan Medical Center.
